This online marketplace has altered its size classifications for female and kids' apparel but did not contact all shoppers about the modification. Digital Channels Backlash Numerous buyers and vendors are expressing on platforms saying Vinted listings now show a modified sizing category compared to what was initially listed as a result of the reclassification. The company said the new system was more in line with similar services. They have suggested members to check their listings and update the measurements by hand where appropriate, causing user dissatisfaction. Size Classification Updates Earlier, the sizes had both a single numeric size and a letter, for instance S/8 or M/10. The new system has an alphabetical indicator and numerical range such as S/UK 8-10. In some cases, the measurements have been reclassified - such as a large size used to be a 12 but now shows as UK 16-18. User Accounts Frankie Bridger, who creates plus-size fashion videos, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult". "Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," as the platform currently indicates. A different member, located in Scotland, explained products she uploaded on Vinted with size 14 labels were appearing on the platform as size 20–22. "Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they may become frustrated," she said. Manual Updates Another shopper, from Derby, said she had been left angered by the change as she had to manually change the sizes on "every single listing". "This situation is especially annoying, because of my ongoing medical condition and Vinted sales have been crucial following partial earnings loss," she stated. Marketplace Information The app has more than 100 million users, including 18 million in the UK. It has become a favored option compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop. This is not the initial instance where an unanticipated change within the service has received backlash: earlier, Vinted reversed a change regarding delivery choices due to shopper criticism.
