The winter recruitment period proves to be a period of intense rumour and potential major transfers. Several prominent players are being connected to moves away from their present clubs. Here is a look at a selection of the key names who could be changing clubs in January.

Antoine Semenyo

Although the Black Stars' failure to reach the AFCON, which has left the forward available, reports suggest a major move is close. The 25-year-old possesses a contract featuring a sizeable buy-out clause active for a short window at the start of the month. Latest reports suggest Manchester City have emerged as his services. Other suitors such as Chelsea and Tottenham reportedly have turned their attention to alternative targets, potentially opening the door for teams like Manchester United or Liverpool to make a last-minute move.

M. Guéhi

This English defender has impress for Crystal Palace despite a summer move to Anfield collapsing. As his contract due to expire in the summer, January is the club's final opportunity to obtain a transfer fee for their skipper. A host of top clubs, including City and several continental powerhouses including Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich, reportedly hold an interest. However, a January exit remains unlikely, especially given the coach's dependence on the player.

B. Johnson

The Wales forward has found first-team opportunities limited at Tottenham this term. Although being the side's top scorer the previous campaign, Johnson has started only a handful of Premier League games. This veteran Germany goalkeeper finds himself as the third option at Barça under new manager Flick. Having fallen out of favour and undergone surgery, a January exit looks highly likely. Aston Villa were once mentioned as a potential suitor, but that option now appears off. Instead, clubs from Saudi Arabia and Turkey are thought to be expressing interest in the 33-year-old.

The much-admired Dutch midfielder has earned parallels to a Belgian superstar for his style of play. Following starring at the U19 Euros, he has become a regular in the AZ Alkmaar side. The teenager is heavily expected to make a big-money transfer in January.
